At 11.00 sharp on Thursday (6/3/104), RI Ambassador to Norway, Yuwono A.
Putranto, presented his credentials to the Head of State of Norway,
King Harald V, at the Norwegian Royal Palace. RI Ambassador was the first to be received by King Harald V. On the day, King Harald V received four Ambassadors, namely from Indonesia, Turkey, Mongolia, and Uganda.
Earlier, the Ambassador was met by the Chief of the Military Staff to the King at the Ambassador’s Residence with the royal vehicle. The whole procession and audience lasted for 30 minutes.
RI Ambassador conveyed warm regards from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the people of Indonesia to King Harald V and the people of Norway.
King Harald V warmly welcomed the new RI Ambassador’s assignment in Norway, and conveyed his warm regards to RI President and the people of Indonesia.
"Although Norway and Indonesia are geographically far apart, this does not hinder both countries to continue enhancing cooperations in various fields", King Harald V emphasized.
King Harald V expressed his pleasure, listening to recent developments in a democratic Indonesia and the relations between Indonesia and Norway, which keep improving stronger. King Harald V hoped that during RI Ambassador’s assignment in Norway, the relationship between the two countries will become even sturdier.
Soon after the presentation of credentials, a ‘Vin d’honneur’ reception was held at the Government Guest House, located behind the Palace and next to the official residence of the Norwegian Prime Minister, hosted by the Norwegian Chief of Protocol.
The reception was arranged to officially welcome the four new Ambassadors’ assignments, each accompanied by their spouses. The reception was attended by senior officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Norwegian Royal Palace. (Source: Indonesian Embassy in Oslo)
